ALIEN Prequel Delayed To 2013
Ridley Scott‘s Alien prequel has seems to have run into more trouble!
Scott first had problems because of high budget concerns and rating issues. After that news was released, FX supervisor Henry South confirmed twitter that production design had begun, which got everyone excited that the film project was once again moving forward.
Scriptflags has reported that Fox Studio has pushed the release date of the film by 12 months to 2013, and the film’s sequel to 2014.
No reason has yet been given on why the film got pushed back. Damon Lindelof’s script was a hit with Fox according to reports, so I don’t know why they want to delay production.
Noomi Rapace and Olivia Wilde are still considered the front runners for the lead role in the film. Both actresses met with Ridley Scott and Fox before the first delay hit. Filming has no official start date, but when it does start filming the plan Scott is planning on shooting them back-to-back.
I really hope they get this film sorted, the longer they wait the more likely fans will get pissed off and disinterested. What are your thoughts?
