The sequel to Clash of the Titans will be called Wrath of the Titans!

Liam Neeson recently revealed in an interview with the Belfast Telegraph that he will reprise his role as Zeus in the sequel to Clash of the Titans, and that the title of the film will be Wrath of the Titans.

Here’s what Neeson had to say,

I’ve only read half of the script and there is still some work being done – they’re on script 10 – but I think it’s going to be some kick-ass stuff and a very human story to it,

Hmmm, for ten drafts it better be kick-ass!  I did not like the first film and am concerned with the number of drafts this script has gone through.   I worry that the sequel will be an even bigger disappointment than the first.
Neeson went on to say that the next chapter in the story is “a whole revamping” and he’s not sure whether or not it will be shot in 3D this time around. Who knows, maybe they’ll follow the new trend and shoot it with the new EPIC RED cameras like The Hobbit and Spider-Man. Keep your fingers crossed that they do not choose to do the lackluster 3D conversion!
The sequel is set to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and the film will start shooting next March with Sam WorthingtonGemma Arterton, and Ralph Fiennes reprising their roles. James Franco reportedly in talks to play Poseidon’s son Agenor and Javier Bardemas Ares, god of war.
Wrath of the Titans has a tentative release date of Spring 2012.  What are your thoughts on this news?
