Dueling SNOW WHITE Films On The Horizon
According to Deadline, Roberts is currently under consideration for the The Brothers Grimm: Snow White movie being directed by Tarsem Singh (The Fall). I’m looking forward to seeing what this movie is going to look like visually, especially with Singh directing it. Brett Ratner, who is producing the film, talked about the project in a previous interview saying,
This is not your grandfather’s Snow White. Melisa [Wallack, who wrote the script] went back to the 500 year old folk tale and put in some of the things that were missing from Walt Disney’s film. His dwarfs were miners, and here they are robbers. There is also a dragon that was in the original folk tale. Walt made one of the great movies of all time, but ours is edgy and there is more comedy. The original, made for its time, was soft compared to what we’re going to do.
Snow White and the Huntsman has a set release date of December 21st 2012 while the Ratner’s The Brothers Grimm: Snow White project has no specific release given.
