Shia LaBeouf Interested In Role In Oliver Stone’s PINKVILLE
Shia LaBeouf is interested in re-teaming with Oliver Stone for the upcoming Vietnam War drama Pinkville.
Stone had planned to start filming Pinkville in Southeast Asia in December 2007, but the film was set aside becaues of the upcoming Writers Guild strike. At the time the cast included Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Michael Pena, Woody Harrelson, Xzibit, Michael Pitt, Toby Jones, Jason Behr and Cam Gigandet.
It is not know what role LaBeouf is interested in playing, but based on his age and fathers role in the war as a chopper pilot it is likely that he would want to play Hugh Thompson, the role Tatum was initially set to play. Thompson was the heroic U.S. Army helicopter pilot that put his helicopter in front of the villagers to stop the My Lai Massacre where G.I.s shot and killed as many as 500 unarmed villagers, many of them women, children and the elderly.
