Third UNCHARTED Game Gets A Title And A Trailer

Third game in the Uncharted franchise gets a title and trailer!

According to Entertainment Weekly the next game will be called.Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

According to Naughty Dog’s creative director Amy Hennig, the theme of deception plays out in multiple ways throughout the threequel, from Drake doing the deceiving to Drake being deceived to some mysterious deception about Drake’s very identity. The story focuses on the hero’s relationship with his mentor and father figure, fan fave Victor “Sully” Sullivan, and has him searching for a legendary lost city that will ultimately take him to the Arabian Peninsula and the vast wasteland of the Rub’ al Khali Desert, also known as the Empty Quarter.

The game is set in the desert and will be released at the end of 2011.
As we reported earlier, David O. Russell is making a live-action film version of Uncharted wtih Mark Wahlberg which is presumably the first of a new franchise for Sony Pictures. Naughty Dog, the company responsible for the game, expressed interest in 2011 becoming a “transmedia” year for Uncharted, expanding out to multiple platforms (including an upcoming novel) and trying to build the property into something more expansive (ala Star Wars).
On Saturday, December 11th  be sure to check out the Video Game Awards at  8pm ET/5pm PT on Spike TV so you can see a full tailer for the game.
Below is the teaser trailer and you can head to Entertainment Weekly for a few screencaps of the game
