Happy Day, A TRON: LEGACY Sequel Is On It’s Way!

Get ready for a TRON: Legacy Sequel!  I am so happy and would be first in line to see the sequel.

TRON: Legacy had been planned as a trilogy of films. When the box office explosion expected by Disney did not occur it was not a foregone conclusion that we would see more on screen. In now what was this a bomb, but it wasn’t the big hit Disney was looking for.
So far is has made $293 million worldwide. They had a reported budget of $170 million, so they’ve made a decent profit already. The money should roll in once the DVD and Blu-ray is released. But there is also money pouring in from Disney’s TRON consumer products.
Here is what Harry from AICN reports:

As kids around the country pulled out wall crawling light trail leaving Tron LIGHT CYCLES from under their Christmas trees, Disney has been counting the receipts – and I’m told… it’s about to hit the tipping point. Now the real question is… Where does TRON go from here? There is a plan, but it is being closely guarded.

Much to my excitement it appears that a new Tron sequel is imminent. It has been reported by insiders that TRON: Legacy is “incredibly close to having its sequel announced.” Lets face it, this is an amazing franchise with a built-in and growing audience of fans so Disney has a lot to work with here! TRON: Legacy is THE BEST 3D film I have seen to date. Yes the film may have had story and script problems, that can be worked on for the sequel. In reality, I believe that the film was great the way it was too. I do not go to see a movie like Tron to be wowed by a great script, I go to have my eyes blown out of my head which it did!
I loved the movie and look forward to see the sequel. Cillian Murphy was cool in the film and he could easily turn out to be a villain in the sequel. Disney left the ending of the film wide open for a sequel, they have an animated series being developed so they already have a lot invested. It only makes sense that they should follow through with the original plan that they had laid out from the beginning.
What are your thoughts of the impending TRON: Legacy sequel (s)?
