Jordana Brewster To Play Lead Role In DALLAS Reboot

Jordana Brewster has been cast in one of the lead roles in the pilot of TNT’s reboot of Dallas from Warner Horizon.

Cynthia Cidre wrote the pilot for the show that centers on the “offspring of bitter rivals and brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing – J.R.’s son, John Ross, and Bobby and Pam Ewing’s adopted son, Christopher – who clash over the future of the Ewing dynasty while the fate of Southfork itself weighs in the balance.” Brewster stars as Elena, the gorgeous daughter of the ranch’s cook who is locked into a love triangle with Christopher and John.
The actress joins Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy who are reprising their roles from the original show as Bobby and Sue Ellen, respectively. Larry Hagman, who played J.R. the patriarch of the family, recently announced that he had verbally committed to the project but is yet to sign a deal. Negotiations have been ongoing for Hagman and an announcement is likely to happen next week. Hagman has been holding out for money according to Deadline. This forced the studio to create a back-up plan and had Cidre write an alternative pilot script in which Hagman’s J.R. only appears in flashbacks from the original series.
Brewster has starred on Chuck and Dark Blue. She will be reprising her role as Mia Toretto in the upcoming sequel Fast Five. I remember watching the final episode of the original Dallas as a kid. Brewster is gorgeous and tough, which will be a great combo for this role.
Have you watched any of the original series? What are your thoughts of Brewster’s addition the cast?
