Mark Wahlberg Still Says He Will Play Nathan Drake & Gives Update On ENTOURAGE Films

Mark Wahlberg has confirmed his role again in Nathan Drake in director David O’Russell‘s Uncharted: Drakes Fortune!
I say again because in November he confirmed he was attached to star. In December it was reported that David O’Russell denied that the actor was attached to it, which gave fans hope that Nathan Fillion could take on the part.
Today those hopes went down the drain faster than the blood in the Psycho shower scene when Wahlberg revealed once again that he is indeed attached to the movie. There’s obviously some confusion about Wahlberg’s involvement with the film, but according to him he’s all set and ready to go.
Here’s is what MovieHole learned from an interview with Wahlberg recently:
Wahlberg is indeed – despite the incessant requests to see Nathan Fillion cast instead – set to play Nathan Drake in the feature film version of Playstation game series “Uncharted“.
There’s suggestion’s Wahlberg’s not a lock, even talk that the film’s nowhere near happening, but according to the actor it’s happening… and sometime mid-year.
”David O’Russell is writing right now and hopes to direct”, Wahlberg says. “It’s myself, Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro”.
So, at this point I guess it’s safe to say Wahlberg is officially going to play Nathan Drake. I’m sure he will do a fine job in the role.
The same article revealed that when the Entourage HBO series end they will get started on the film, which won’t be a one-off. Wahlberg goes on to say, ”It will hopefully be the first of at least three Entourage films.” So I guess we can prepared ourselves for an Entourage movie trilogy. I’ve very interested in seeing who they will go about bring this story to the big screen.
I may be crucified for saying this, but I am not a fan of Nathan Fillion and am happy that Wahlberg is playing the part. What are your thoughts on this Wahlberg news?
