No G.I. JOE 2 For Stephen Sommers
Director Stephen Sommers is no longer attached to direct G.I. Joe 2!
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, although enjoyable to an extent, was a horrible way to start a franchise.Other filmmakers have been approached by Paramount Studios to direct the film.
The LA Times reports that, “Two agents who represent other filmmakers have said they’d recently been approached about their clients coming on to helm the movie and were told that Sommers would not be getting behind the camera. Paramount declined to comment.”
It it not currently know which directors are in consideration. I would be fine if Paramount decided to reboot whole G.I. Joe film franchise with an all new cast, and start over with a movie actually worth watching. This is the one superhero movie that I could really get behind as a fan growing playing with the action figures.
