USA Buys Rights To 9/11 Drama THE SPACE BETWEEN Starring Melissa Leo
USA announced it has purchased the rights to The Space Between written and directed by Travis Fine stars Melissa Leo (The Fighter).
The film stars Leo as a flight attendant “who forms a bond with a 10-year-old Pakistani-American boy traveling by himself on 9/11.” The supporting cast includes, AnnaSophia Robb, Phillip Rhys, Anthony Keyvan and Brad William Henke.
This marks the first festival acquisition for USA. The movie premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The Space Between will air on Sept. 11, 2011, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks.
The movie looks good and I am glad that it will be aired. It is a shame that it will not make it to the big screen. I am guessing that USA will likely release the film in DVD/Blu-ray.
