Matt and Kim WIN mtvU Woodie – "Best Live Performance"

If you missed out on the Woodies on mtvU then you missed out on a great awards show. Not only did Community’s Donald Glover do an amazing job of hosting, but Matt and Kim (one of my favorite bands) took home a Woodie for “Best Live Performance”.  The duo also have an appearance in Morgan Spurlock’s THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD, which features “Cameras” mash up with Big Boi. Keep reading for all the details on the tour dates below!
Official Press Release:

Austin, TX (March 18th, 2011) – After kicking off SXSW with a blow out set Monday night at the Gowalla party, Matt & Kim took the MTVu Woodie Awards by storm, beating out Girl Talk, The National, Mumford & Sons and Robyn for Best Live Performance. They were also on hand presenting the Woodie Of The Year award to Wiz Khalifa.

Yesterday, Matt & Kim’s live performance at the MTV Garage shook the Red River parking garage, and tonight they finish out SXSW with what is sure to be a rager of a headlining set at FADER Fort by Fiat (7pm).

And all this is just a warm up for the duo, who will be kicking off their massive US summer tour in support of SIDEWALKS with a set at the Sasquatch! Festival May 28.

Also coming up, Matt & Kim have an appearance in Morgan Spurlock’s new film “The Greatest Movie Ever Sold” which screened at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this week and will be in wide release April 20. The film features a mash up of SIDEWALKS lead single “Cameras” with Big Boi’s “Shutterbug.”
