The Strokes to begin working on Angles follow up in April
The Strokes are going to begin working on their next album in April, according to NME. They took a long break before recording Angles, and it looks like they plan to continue the momentum. Keep reading for all of the details!
Strokes frontman, Julian Casablancas, had made an earlier statement that the band would work on new material “as soon a possible.” Bassist Nikolai Fraiture confirmed the April start date with XFM and revealed that the band would begin writing the follow-up to ‘Angles’ less than a month after that album came out. Here is what Fraiture had to say:
“We were just talking about when we would get back together and start writing for the next album. “It should be soon. April, mid-April.”
When XFM asked Fraitur about some fans criticism that ‘Angles’ wasn’t as instantly-accessible as their previous work, he responded:
“I love that it takes a few listens. After a five-year break, we didn’t want to do something that’s like, ‘Oh, I get it after one listen!'”
