He is a man known by many names – Man of Steel, Superman or even Supes. The long-awaited reboot or re-imagining of the Superman universe, Man of Steel, flew into theaters today. Directed by Zack Snyder the film stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, and Russell Crowe.

I grew up on the original Superman movies, and have some very fond memories. Man of Steel is my favorite film of the year. I love everything about the movie, and can’t seem to find anything glaringly wrong with the film aside from it’s length.
Michael Shannon is an AMAZING Zod
Shannon is a chameleon, and is a truly versatile character actor. I love his role on Boardwalk Empire. He is bad ass as Zod. He stands out in every scene that he is in. His scenes opposite Russell Crowe are like watching a verbal tennis match.
The New Superman Suit Looks Sweet!
The old suit may be what we are used to seeing from the original films and Superman Returns. The suit has changed over the years, and is drastically different from the comic book. The new suit is modern and gritty, and looks fantastic on the big screen.
Faora Steals The Show!
Shannon is evil as Zod, but Antje Trau is both beautiful and deadly as Faora. Her fight scenes against Superman are the best of the entire movie. The picture above gives you a good look at her steely gaze. I am hoping that she does not stay dead forever after being sucked into the black hole, and that she comes back to avenge General Zod.
Man of Steel Only Needs Plaid and Glasses to Blend In!
Apparently the majority of the people that work at The Daily Planet have had their memories erased, aside from Lois Lane. Clark is hired at the end of the film to be a reporter. How is it possible that the man who has just saved the world is not noticed by more people. Of course Lane is keeping his identity a secret, but the rest of the employees seem oblivious.
