67-year-old man builds giant beetle robot

This giant beetle robot is amazing. 67-year-old Hitoshi Takahashi took 11 years to design and build the robot that he calls KABUTOM RX-03. Takashi started the project when he was 50. The giant beetle robot is just that, the 36 feet tall bot weighs n at 17-tons and is powered by a pair of diesel engines.

The beetle has over 30 moving parts, with a moving horn that can shoot smoke. It can travel up to 2,5 miles-per-hour and can carry up to 7 people. If I saw this giant beetle robot coming at me, I would be a bit worried. Riding atop it would be pretty cool. I am in awe of how cool the KABUTOM RX-03 is, and am impressed that Takashi spent so much time  and energy into making it. The times of I, Robot are not too far away. Lets just hope they don’t plot to rule the human race.
