Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch Sought for TRUE DETECTIVE Season 2
True Detective Season 2 is ramping up. TheWrap is reporting that Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch are being sought for roles in the second season of the Emmy-nominated HBO show. Farrell is close to signing on to play the older lead, while Kitsch is in talks to play the younger.
Series creator Nic Pizzolatto told The Daily Beast that season two will be set in California and feature “four central roles.”Sources claim that HBO wanted to land “a true movie star, someone who could play rugged and gritty.”
Rugged and gritty could be Farrell’s middle name, so this is good casting in my mind. His latest movies may have been lackluster, but Seven Psychopaths and In Bruges are amazing. Kitsch’s John Carter is a lot better than most fans and critics consider it to be.
No official casting has been made, but we do know that HBO will continue the anthology format. Each season will reboot with new settings and characters. This is very helpful for HBO because it allows for big-name actors to film the show as if they were filming a movie and then move on to their next project.
