5 Marvel Movies To Watch Before Black Widow Drops In Theaters

As superhero fans, we’re all pretty sad to not be gearing up for the newest films from Marvel and DC Comics like Black Widow and Wonder Woman, two of the many films whose release dates were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the delays now give us some extra time to rewatch our other favorite Marvel movies and even try to convert our friends and family members who have yet to jump on the Marvel train.
As of now, Black Widow is rescheduled to be released on November 6th, 2020. Before that happens, sit back, relax, and press play on some of the best movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that set up the story to come soon from Natasha Romanova, the Black Widow. To get caught up or enjoy a good refresher on these movies, you can find them on Disney+, Netflix, DISH Network On-Demand and more!
The Avengers
The story of the Avengers really kicked off with this film that premiered in 2012. Nick Fury, the leader of S.H.I.E.L.D. – a secret agency tasked with saving the world – brought together some of the greatest heroes on Earth to form a team meant to stop an alien invasion led by Loki, Thor’s brother.
Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye work together and do the best they can to halt Loki’s plans and take back the Tesseract from him. However, they are unaware that one of the six Infinity Stones are hidden within Loki and the Tesseract’s scepters, which come heavily into play later as Thanos, the Mad Titan, tries to steal them.
The Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Released in 2015, this film follows the Avengers’ journey in the aftermath of a peacekeeping program restarted by millionaire Tony Stark gone bad. The program, an artificial intelligence being called Ultron, becomes sentient and sends into motion a plot to destroy humankind and take over the world. Once again, the Avengers must reassemble, with the help and encouragement of Nick Fury, and figure out a plan to stop Ultron in its tracks and kill all of the bodies it has taken over.
Captain America: Civil War
Superheroes begin to turn against superheroes in this 2016 continuation of Marvel’s Avengers films. Over the years, though the Avengers have managed to save the world many times, there was often collateral damage that occurred as a result of the action. When once again, another Avengers-related incident causes more damage than intended, political pressure causes the team to now be under the scrutiny of a greater governing authority that is intended to hold them accountable.
Unhappy with this new change of regime, Captain America forms a team that shares his feelings that the Avengers should remain unencumbered by government interference. Surprisingly, Tony Stark’s feelings of opposition are strong, and his support of the new rules causes a divide between the Avengers.
Avengers: Infinity War
Thanos makes his first major appearance in this film where he is presented now as the most dangerous and unpredictable force that the team of Avengers has ever encountered. His goal throughout the film is to collect the six Infinity Stones that we saw in the very first Avengers movie.
If he captures all of the stones, his powers become unimaginably terrifying and capable of destroying the only reality the world knows, making this perhaps the most important job the Avengers have ever had to complete.
Avengers: Endgame
At the end of Avengers: Infinity War, audiences were left with broken hearts after losing some of the most beloved superheroes the Marvel Universe had ever seen to Thanos, the evil demigod.
With Tony Stark drifting through space, it’s up to Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, and Bruce Banner to figure out how they can bring back the allies they lost and prepare to destroy Thanos for good before he can complete his vicious plans.
To start streaming these movies you’ll need a Disney+ and Netflix subscription or On-Demand option through your cable provider, a good internet connection and a smart device to watch it from. Get your stream on and get hyped about Black Widow!
