Copshop Blu-ray Review

Joe Carnahan delivers a balls to the wall action thriller with COPSHOP. The film stars Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, Alexis Louder (the star of the film) and a slew of other character actors. My favorite of which is Toby Huss as the rival hitman. He’s over the top and I am here for it.
Alexis Louder is definitely one to watch. She is tough as nails as a rookie cop who is a badass with a six shooter.
Carnahan is known for fast paced action, witty lines laced with profanities, and great costuming. This delivers all of this and more.
Copshop is a common term for a police station. The film takes place primarily in a police station. This is one of the nicest small town police stations I’ve seen in a movie. Then again, I’m basing this on movies like First Blood and the like.
The makeup was so good on Grillo, that at first I didn’t realize it was him when he had his hair down. Maybe I’m the only one, but Grillo is a great actor and is well suited for this type of movie.
Synopsis
Tearing through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto (Frank Grillo) hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick (Gerard Butler): He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young (Alexis Louder) to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. Jail can’t protect Murretto for long, and Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin (Toby Huss) ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.
