Leonardo DiCapiro and Martin Scorsese Movies Ranked

The Wolf of Wall Street is one of Scorsese’s best works. It has recently been released in 4K. I had the chance to watch the film. It is not a movie I would traditionally buy because the visual effects would not truly warrant it. The sound mix of this disc is great and there are a lot of nice special features. I would always want more features, but I have to be thankful for what we get.

Watching the movie got me thinking about my favorite Scorsese films from over the years. Below is a ranking of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio collaborations.

5. Gangs of New York

Gangs of New York is hands-down my favorite DiCaprio and Scorsese collaboration. The cast is superb, aside from Cameron Diaz (in my opinion) who stood out like a sore thumb. Watch the trailer below to see why I love this movie.

4. Shutter Island

Shutter Island is the perfect film for me since I am a fan of Hitchcock. I think Mark Ruffalo and the entire supporting cast are allowed to shine with some solid dialogue.

3. The Aviator

Leo deserved an Oscar for his portrayal of Howard Hughes in this epic Scorsese film. Costuming is my favorite part of this film. I am a sucker for period movies for this reason. I guess that the Academy was as well, since it won Best Costumes at the Oscars in 2005. Check out the trailer below.

2. The Wolf of Wall Street

Of course, this movie has to be on the list. DiCaprio is great in this film based on real life events that are too crazy to believe. You can pick up your copy on Amazon today.

1. The Departed

The Departed, while an Americanized version of a classic, is number two for me on my list. Love Jack Nicholson in this role, one of his most memorable in my opinion.
