PROMISED LAND Trailer Starring Matt Damon and John Krasinski

Here is the domestic trailer for Gus Van Sant‘s Promised Land. The Office‘s John Krasinski and Matt Damon not only penned the screenplay, but star in the drama. The cast also includes Frances McDormand, Rosemarie DeWitt, Scoot McNairy, Titus Welliver, and Hal Holbrook. Damon was originally set to direct, but Van Sant stepped in to take over. I know it is early, but this looks like it could have some Oscar potential. Watch the trailer below and let us know what you think!
Synopsis:
In this contemporary drama, corporate salesman Steve Butler (Matt Damon) arrives in a rural town with his sales partner, Sue Thomason (Frances McDormand). With the town having been hit hard by the economic decline of recent years, the two outsiders see the local citizens as likely to accept their company’s offer, for drilling rights to their properties, as much-needed relief. What seems like an easy job for the duo becomes complicated by the objection of a respected schoolteacher (Hal Holbrook) with support from a grassroots campaign led by another man (John Krasinski) who counters Steve both personally and professionally. Directed by Academy Award nominee Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting,Milk). Story by Dave Eggers; Screenplay by John Krasinski & Matt Damon. Opens December 28th in New York and Los Angeles, and January 11th nationwide.
