THE WALKING DEAD: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON Blu-ray Review
The Walking Dead: The Complete Third Season arrives on Blu-ray on Tuesday. The AMC series is one of my favorite television shows. The Walking Dead is must-watch weekly television because of the characters. This is much more than just a zombie show, I believe that everyone can find something that they find enjoyment out of.
The Walking Dead season 3 pits Rick against the Governor. Instead of focusing on the survivors, season 3 tells two stories. There are such great characters, many new ones, and a fantastic story line.
Revenge is a big part of this season, but so is redemption. Both Rick and the Governor want revenge against one another. The Governor wants to kill Michonne. It felt as though everyone was continually trying to one-up one another.
Merle on the other hand deals with redemption. After being the black sheep of the survivors, he is able to redeem himself in a epic way. This actually sparks more revenge on behalf of his brother Daryl.
Michonne is one of my favorite characters this season. What is not to love about a bad-ass chick who wields a samurai sword. Her biggest downfall is that she is such a loner at the start of the season. She soon realizes that she will have more success being part of a larger group.
Walt becomes a man in season 3. The zombie apocalypse is not the place for a kid to grow up. Carl is desensitized by the violence, and seems to even enjoy it. He shoots first and asks for forgiveness later. One thing is for sure is that the characters transform every season, which makes The Walking Dead such a fantastic show.
I watch AMC in HD only, so I was used to fantastic picture quality. The disc delivers on both picture and audio quality. The picture is great, I love the colors and tint of the show, and the Blu-ray brings that to the next level. The Walking Dead: The Complete Third Season features a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 lossless soundtrack. You can hear all of the zombie groans, grunts and plenty of bullets whizzing by your ears.
