STAR WARS: EPISODE VII – First Production Photo
R2-D2 is back in this first photo from pre-production of Star Wars: Episode VII.
The photo was tweeted by Bad Robot. The photo features director J.J. Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy. Unless our favorite R2 unit is just hanging around being friendly, it looks as though he will be making a return in the new installment. I would be willing to bet that means the C-3PO will also be back on the big screen. They have both appeared in all six films of the Star Wars franchise thus far. R2-D2 has also make cameos in both Star Trek and Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.
This is some of the biggest news from the film. So far we’ve shared the news that there have been open casting calls in the states and the UK.

Filming will begin in Spring 2014 to meet it’s 2015 release date.
