Terry Crews thinks he is perfect to play FANTASTIC FOUR’s The Thing
Terry Crews is great at both action and comedy roles. That coupled with his muscular physique make him a shoe in for a superhero role. I like him in The Expendables films and am surprised he hasn’t been cast in such a role. During an interview with Newsarama (via SuperHeroHype), he revealed which comic book characters he would like to play.
Crews stated:
“One character I always thought I could play is the Thing from Fantastic Four. Another character I’ve always loved as a fan is Colossus. If there was a way to make that happen that worked, I would love to be Colossus.”
He revealed that the secret to being cast is the opinion of the fans:
“You can’t make yourself President; the people make you the President. If people want me to be a part of this superhero genre, it’ll happen. People get what they want.”
If he isn’t cast, Crews says he has other plans:
“I feel like we need to make new superheroes, African-American superheroes, that people would accept. Whatever I do, it has to be right – for me, for the character, and for the fans.”
At this point we have no news about the reboot of Fantastic Four, aside from Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) singing on as screenwriter. Fantastic Four is scheduled for release on March 6, 2015 so I am sure some casting news will be unearthed soon.
