DEATHGASM Is a Bloody Good Time – Blu-ray Review
Deathgasm hit Blu-ray and DVD on January 5th. I had been excited to see this film from the moment I watched the trailer. I reminded me of Braindead AKA Dead Alive (watch the trailer here), another great film shot in New Zealand by director Peter Jackson.
I am not typically a fan of gory horror films, but this is the perfect exceptionThis movie is the perfect blend of splatterfest and dark comedy. There are some very creative death scenes, one involving sex toys (yes you read that right). Watching the film takes me back to my days listening to Metallica and watching horror movies with my friends late into the night. We used to watch Bad Taste, another film by Peter Jackson, on such a regular basis that we should have bought the VHS from the local video store.
