SPIN Exclusive: New Motion City Soundtrack Video!

Here is the new video from Motion City Soundtrack for “A Lifeless Ordinary” from SPIN Magazine!

The song is featured on the bands 2010 album My Dinosaur LifeJustin Pierre, the bands frontman, talked to SPIN recently about his amazingly clever one-take video for the song. He revealed that the video took 19 takes to get it right, which makes complete sense considering the amount of extras and the cramped space around the backyard pool. Here is what he had to say,

“I haven’t had this much fun in long time,” Pierre says of the video, which he worked on with indie director Shane Nelson, “Minneapolis’ best kept secret…. Making this video reaffirmed my belief that you should just trust yourself, and do things you like with people you like. Exactly what I had in my mind came out onscreen.”

Pierre talks about his influences for the video,

“I wanted it to have the coolness and stupidness of Weezer, the absurdity of the Flaming Lips, and the nonchalance of Pavement, like, ‘We really don’t give a shit. It combines all these things that I like, all these little nuggets of ridiculousness.”
